M-Five offers interesting and diverse fields of activity in an interdisciplinary team that provides scientifically based strategy and policy advice. We advise e.g. the Federal Ministries of Transport, Economics or Environment, but also the European Commission or the European Parliament.
We work on systemic issues in the field of sustainable mobility research and consultancy as well as macroeconomic analyses. Climate protection is an important element of our consultancy. But the economic and social dimensions of sustainability are also part of our analyses.
Have you completed your doctorate or are you about to do so? You want to continue working scientifically, but now want to use your theoretical knowledge in practical and concrete applications? At the moment, we can offer the following position:
For our systemic questions in the field of mobility research and consulting as well as macroeconomic analyzes we are looking for a student with an interest in sustainable mobility, climate protection and an affinity for numbers.
We would like to fill this position with a committed student (m/w/d) from April 1st or April 15th, 2024.
Your main tasks:
- Research and preparation of data on the topics of transport, urban mobility, economy and employment
- Working on the development of new mobility concepts
- Further development of our analyses to the quantitative/qualitative evaluation and assessment of the impact of transport, technology and climate policies on mobility, e.g. electric mobility and diffusion of technologies in fleets
Your profile:
- Studies in transport science, geo (earth) sciences or business engineering
- Physicists and sustainability experts with specializations in transport & mobility are also welcome
- You like to juggle with numbers and you are able to find them in the depths of the internet
- Good knowledge of Word and Excel
- Language skills: excellent written and spoken German; very good English skills for our international projects

- want to work on the further development of our ASTRA model for the macroeconomic evaluation of German and European policies
- can negotiate in German and English (we are also happy about applicants with French language skills)
- want to make a difference and work on the planning and implementation of macroeconomic projects related to climate, energy, transport, industrial and innovation policy.
- would like to broaden your knowledge by working on a Master’s thesis. We will be happy to support you.
